This policy explains how the WiFi Analyzer Pro app for Android (“the app”), published by Ibex Solutions (“we”), handles information. It applies to the app only; our website is covered by the same principles.
What the app does
WiFi Analyzer Pro diagnoses Wi-Fi and internet problems from your phone. It shows a network overview and live data usage; scans nearby Wi-Fi networks and analyses channels; checks your router; and runs speed, ping, live app and game ping, traceroute and DNS tests, a “What’s my IP” check and a server map.
Information we collect
We do not collect personal data. The app has no accounts and no sign-in. It does not include analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services, and it does not send your test results, location or any other information about you to us or to anyone else.
Test results, your recent test targets (such as an address you pinged) and the phone details the app shows you (model and Android version) are kept on your phone only. You can remove them at any time by clearing the app’s data in your phone’s settings or by uninstalling the app.
Permissions the app asks for
- Location. Android only lets an app scan for nearby Wi-Fi networks, and read their names and signal strength, when it has the location permission. The app uses it for that scan on your phone and for nothing else. It does not record, store or share your location.
- Wi-Fi and network state. Used to see which network you are connected to and to run the tests.
- Internet access. Used to run the speed, ping, traceroute and DNS tests and the IP lookups described below.
You can turn the location permission off at any time in your phone’s settings; Wi-Fi scanning will then stop working.
Network connections during tests
A network test has to connect to something. When you run one, the app connects only to what that test needs:
- Your router on your local network, for the router and Wi-Fi tests.
- Speed-test servers near you, run by internet providers and hosting companies, for the speed test.
- Popular apps’ and games’ servers (for example Google, YouTube or TikTok), to measure ping in the app and game ping and live ping tests.
- Public DNS resolvers (your own, Google, Cloudflare and Quad9) for the DNS test, plus a standard “who is my resolver” lookup.
- IP lookup services, to show your public IP address and the owner and rough location of addresses in the “What’s my IP”, traceroute and server map views.
- Any address you type in yourself, such as a domain you ping or trace.
Like any internet connection, these servers can see your device’s IP address, and each operates under its own privacy policy. The app does not send them your test results, your location or any personal information.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share any information about you, because the app does not collect it. Some screens have a Share button: it opens your phone’s own share menu, and a result is sent only to the app or person you pick, only when you tap it.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Security
Because test results never leave your phone, they are protected by your phone’s own security, such as its screen lock.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes how it handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the app.
